How do I Choose a Domain Name
The ideal domain name for your website is the top level, highest ranking keyword or keyphrase in your niche.
The bad news is that, most of the time, that domain was registered a long, long time ago.
If you can register a domain name with a high demand keyphrase included then do so. Just don't overdo it. The last
thing you want to do is register something like:
dog-food-and-cat-food-and-pet-supplies.com
You might as well use:
I-am-going-to-spam-the-crap-out-of-you-google.com
A domain name should be easy to remember. Ideally it should be something that is catchy, that sparks interest in visitors.
HYPENS
I don't like hyphens in domain names. Off line marketing (word of mouth) is easiest with the shortest non hyphenated domain name possible.
If you must use hyphens in your domain name I suggest no more than two of them. If your domain name, without hyphens, does not
construct multiple possible words then omit the hyphens.
Registering a domain name before conducting a supply and demand analysis of your niche is putting the cart before the horse.
